Challenge

Cobbling together Claude and design contractors for every deck

Coverbase sells to banks, insurers and large enterprises — the bar for polish is high. Sales collateral has to match the credibility and quality of their product offering.

Before Moda, every customer-facing deck took several people.

The initial content was drafted with Claude, but the slides it generated lacked professional quality.

"It was really clunky," says Clarence Chio, CEO, "we could never make it look good."

So the team relied on contract designers to clean up slide decks and add graphics.

The handoff was the problem. Coverbase's team frequently does onsite POCs with enterprise prospects. In a live POC, that process couldn't keep up. The deal moved fast, and the design pipeline moved slowly. For a company that wins by putting fast, custom proof in front of prospects, that was a real drag.

"It's not just about the visual design. It's about the content as well," Clarence says. "If the designer doesn't have the content, if they're just trying to make it look nice, it usually doesn't hit home."

Moda gave Coverbase's go-to-market team exactly what their CEO had decided they needed: one workflow where the same person owns the content and the design.

Moda functions as a design assistant to the GTM team, enabling them to drop in source material like a call transcript or an outline, and turn it into a polished first draft. Then, they can edit the result directly or conversationally ask Moda to tweak it. The Google Slides-like interface means there's no learning curve and the team can collaborate in real time.

"The first deck landed on par with what a designer could give us," Clarence says, "but with the benefit of being able to make the edits on the fly."

During an on-site enterprise POC, the Coverbase team needed to create new slides. "I recorded the eight-hour session, pasted it into Granola, dropped it into Moda, and said: summarize all of this," Clarence says. "And I was able to do it." Then, presenting the next day, he'd hear something, realize a slide was wrong, and fix it through Moda mid-sentence. By the time he reached the slide, it was already correct. "A little risky," he admits, "but that was the wow moment."

With Moda, Coverbase turned slide-making from a multi-person handoff into something its go-to-market team does on its own, fast enough to keep up with a live deal.

Coverbase responds faster during live POCs. Custom summary decks that once took several people now come together overnight from a raw transcript and a few spreadsheets. Slides can even be corrected live, in the room. The collateral keeps pace with a multi-day, on-site POC.

The GTM team self-serves, leading to higher quality sales collateral. Salespeople build their own polished, prospect-specific decks in one workflow, without handing off to a designer. Because the same person owns the content and the design, the decks are higher quality.
