Functional resume templates

Grouping by capability rather than date is what you do when the calendar tells the wrong story: a career change, years raising children, contract work that overlaps. The top of the page argues three or four competencies with evidence underneath, and employment shrinks to a dated list at the foot. It is a harder document to write, because nothing sequences itself and the headings have to do all of the persuading on their own.
